More recently, Dr. Ramirez co-authored the blog “Writing a Dissertation During a Pandemic,” which includes a compilation of consejos to help students navigate their dissertation.
What advice/tips/consejos would you give students in terms of navigating school?
You are more than your academic or professional identity. Your community has provided you with values, knowledge, and corazón. Listen to those lessons and trust yourself throughout your educational journey.
What are your professional/career aspirations?
I aspire to be a faculty mentor to the next generation of students as an assistant professor.
What (or who) inspires you?
I'm inspired by all of the freedom fighters of the past century. Without them there is no Ethnic Studies. I'm also inspired by the young people who have picked up the helm in the past decade and continue to push us towards a more just future.
