Jasmin Vargas awarded the KCP Future Faculty Fellowship

CLS Dual Major PhD student Jasmin Patron-Vargas has been awarded a King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship for the Spring 2022 Semester.

The KCP FFF is funded by the state of Michigan's Michigan Talent Investment Agency and the MSU Graduate School. The program aims to increase the pool of academically or economically disadvantaged candidates pursuing faculty teaching careers in postsecondary education.

Jasmin is a dual-major PhD student in Curriculum, Instruction and Teacher Education and Chicano/Latino Studies. Jasmin's research interests are concerned with Ethnic Studies in K-12 settings and the teaching and learning of Latinx history. In 2015, Jasmin received her BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Latino/a Studies and Gender and Women Studies. In 2017, she earned her MEd from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Educational Policy Studies.
