CLS graduate student wins GenCen Dissertation Fellowship

CLS Graduate Certificate student Estela Gonçalves de Souza, who is pursuing a doctoral degree in History, was awarded a 2025-26 Graduate Dissertation Fellowship award from the MSU Center for Gender in Global Context and the MSU Graduate School.

Her dissertation is titled "From slavery to freedom: Black lives and the study of Black masculinities in pre and post abolitionist Juiz de Fora, Brazil (1880-1910)".
