The Office of Access and Community Engagement with the College of Education, invites the community for a virtual discussion with Miguel Pinedo, Director of the Migration & Health Lab. Pinedo will lead a discussion on the intersections of migration, health, and social equity. Drawing on research focused on Latino communities in the United States and Mexico, this talk will explore how migration functions as a critical social determinant of health and shapes experiences related to mental health, substance use, and overall well-being. Participants will gain insight into the structural factors that contribute to health disparities among migrant communities and consider pathways for advancing health equity through research, policy, and community engagement.
