Legacy of Cesar Chavez Dinner

CLS is pleased to share an opportunity to hear from Julie Chavez Rodriguez, granddaughter of Cesar Chavez, as the keynote speaker of this year's the City of Lansing’s Legacy of Cesar Chavez Dinner, an annual event that honors the life and lasting impact of Cesar Chavez and his work for workers’ rights, social justice, and community empowerment.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez has dedicated her career to public service and advocacy. She was appointed to positions within both the Obama and Biden administrations where she worked on issues affecting working families and community engagement. Through her leadership, she continues to honor her grandfather’s legacy by promoting fairness, opportunity, and civic participation.
