Andrea Santibanez Trujillo
Bio
I am a proud first-generation student and Mexican-American from Hardeeville, SC. I completed my B.A. at the University of South Carolina Beaufort in Psychology in 2025. Currently, I am a second year PhD student in the Ecological and Community Psychology and the Chicane/Latine Studies programs. My research interests broadly center on social justice, health equity, and human rights. Currently, I focus on immigrant well-being, gender-based violence, Latine youth, and community/engaged research methods. I aspire to target systems of oppression, violence, and inequality to create a more just society. Specifically, shedding light on and understanding the barriers and challenges of living for individuals in the United States and the global south.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, sports, attending concerts, and traveling.
