Biography

Delaney is a third-year doctoral student in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education program at Michigan State. She is from Southern California where she earned her A.A. in English from College of the Desert, and her B.A. in English and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Policy from the University of California, Riverside. Attending these Hispanic-Serving Institutions inspired her path to pursue equity in access and success for historically marginalized students, particularly Chicano/Latino students and multilingual students. Delaney proudly identifies as a neurodivergent Chicana, first-generation student, and student parent. Her research centers anticolonial and Chicana feminist approaches to understanding the curriculum, instruction, and assessment of first-year writing programs, especially developmental sequences, and how these impact under-represented students in colleges and universities. In her free time, Delaney loves to travel, spend time outdoors, and indulge in her addictions to crafting and watching junk reality TV shows.
