Biography

Salomón (Salo) Rodezno is son of Oscar and Mercedes Valle, sibling to Lilliana and Oscar Alexander Valle, and Daphne Garay-Valle's gay uncle. Salo is a queer first-generation Salvadoran American PhD student in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education department at Michigan State University. He also is working on a certificate in Chicano/Latino Studies. Before joining the Department of Educational Administration at MSU, he directed the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his MEd in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Vermont, and his BA in Visual Arts: Film Production from the University of California San Diego. His research interests include critical studies in education, cultural studies, diverse learners and educational equity, graduate education, student affairs administration. He is equally interested in epistemologies and research methods involving art, cinema, embodiment, espiritus, gardening, folklore, futurities, hauntings, memory and science fiction
