Biography

Angelita Repetto is a sociologist specialized in race, ethnicity, and stratification. She currently studies how anti-Latinx hate speech and attitudes toward this population are linked to socio-economic stratification, Latinx racialization, and mental health. Her current work addresses three major questions: (1) are all Latinx people similarly racialized regardless of racial diversity within this population?, (2) do changing attitudes toward this population affect their socioeconomic well-being and health, and (3) how will the changing 2030 census question on race and ethnicity further the racialization of the Latinx population? Dr. Repetto utilizes a combination of traditional quantitative methods, computational methods, and survey methods that provide complementary insights into the complex problems at hand.
