Bio

Elisa was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduated from UC Merced in 2020 with a bachelor's in political science. As a first-generation college student, Elisa really focused on finding her support system whether that be in a living learning community or involving herself in club organizations that had the same cultural backgrounds. It really made her college experience fulfilling and led her to many opportunities like working for orientation, studying abroad, and enhancing student development within student affairs programs.

Elisa is currently a second year in the Student Affairs Administration program in the College of Education/HALE Program. With the Chicano/Latino studies graduate certificate, Elisa wishes to explore the history and culture in order to provide another lens in student success initiatives in higher education programs. The Chicano/Latino studies provides her the tools and knowledge to learn about literacy and theories to help address social justice issues within the Latino community and others. Elisa's goal is to continue empowering and building on the pathway for students by providing additional support and community like the leaders who did before her.
