"Digital Humanities and the Interdisciplinary Chicana"

Developing a virtual collection of Chicana Feminist materials requires an interdisciplinary approach that reimagines the ongoing conversation between generations in a corporeal space of witness, using the digital and analog.

In this talk, Garcia Merchant will look at the work of the Chicana por mi Raza Digital Memory Collective (CPMR) at the University of Texas at Austin, and Recovering the US Hispanic Literary Heritage/US Latino Digital Humanities Initiative at the University of Houston, two initiatives that rely on the element of witness, specifically through the recovery, recording and cultural production of first-person storytelling, documents, artefacts and ephemera.
